Dunklebergs Leaving Conesus Forest to Conservancy

When Neal and Cecile Dunkleberg were working to update their Will, they had several things to consider: a son, daughter, lifelong family friend, and their land.

After 30+ years of living on this Conesus property, they wanted to make sure decisions were made to support those closest to them and keep their cherished forest intact into the future.

Their children will inherit the house with some acreage, with life use given to their family friend. The bulk of the forest will be given to Genesee Valley Conservancy to ensure the beauty they have enjoyed is continued for future generations.

This 26 acre forest is on the ridge

between Conesus and Hemlock lakes.

There are no restrictions with this gift of land. However, this in-tact forest has obvious conservation value so the organization will ensure its long term protection either through continued ownership or by selling the land sujbect to a conservation easement - preventing development and division of the land.

We thank Neal and Cecile for looking ahead and making this gift to ensure the Town of Conesus remains a beautiful place for future generations.
