The Indian Fort is losing its final Ash trees. This has caused openings in the canopy. The invasive species of buckthorn, multiflora rose, honey suckle among others, continue to need
active identification, removal, and replanting of native species. The need for shrubs in the Indian Fort is based on the need for increased species diversity, enhanced habitat
for pollinators and songbirds.
