YOU CAN HELP SAVE LAND

Volunteer

The heart of conservation

Behind every acre protected and every trail maintained is a community of dedicated volunteers who help make this work possible. Volunteers aren’t just helpers — they’re essential partners in our mission to protect the habitat, open space, and farmland of the Genesee Valley region.

Field Work:
Green Team

Field work is our greatest volunteer need, and for good reason. Our field volunteers — affectionately known as the Green Team — are what keep our nature preserves healthy, accessible, and thriving for the wildlife and people who depend on them.

Common activities include:

  • Trail maintenance

  • Invasive species removal

  • Restoration planting

  • Improving preserve access and appearance (painting, sanding, sign installation, & more)

Projects occur on an as-needed basis, with most work taking place in the spring, summer, and fall seasons.

Behind the Scenes

Not all conservation happens outdoors. We rely on volunteers who bring their time and professional skills to support the Conservancy from the inside.

From event planning and photography to legal services and nature walks, we’re always happy to chat about how your skills can support our work.

Additionally, our Board of Directors oversees our entire organization, along with committees to help guide their work. Learn more about serving on the Board or a committee.
